Annie Ruiz, a former Bell High student works with a local church to distribute food every Tuesday and Wednesday at 9pm to families who are in need. The food distribution takes place on 52nd ST and Compton Ave.
Trader Joe's and Stater Bros. donate groceries to the church that will expire within 15 days. The groceries include: meats, vegetables, and a myriad of fruit. Annie added that if they get lucky, local stores or people from the community donate toothpaste, soap, or other things for personal hygiene.
Annie says, "Our main goal is to help the community. We provide them with food and other essential stuff. Everyone in the community is welcomed, we even provide the bags!"
Now that a lot more people have been showing up, they decided to move the distribution to a now permanent setting, the 52nd St and Compton Ave location. She said, "A lot more people have been showing up, especially single mothers and their kids."

My news story was fairly easy to write. The only hard part was getting an interview with my cousin since she works full time and is attending college. It was cool finding about this program and the many people it benefits.

California bank manager used in robbery

http://www.cnn.com/2012/09/05/us/california-bank-robbery/index.html?hpt=us_c2

I found this article interesting because the criminals used the bank's manager to help them obtain the stolen money, and now she is being accused of being involved in the crime as well.
